Photo by @pete_k_muller "I've got this red Paradise dirt in my blood, in my mouth, in my nose, on my clothes," says Dave Clemmons. He lost everything during the November 2018 wildfire that destroyed his hometown of Paradise, California. Dave now lives in a trailer on the side of a highway. "After the fire, I went to my father's house, which burned to the ground. I was standing in the driveway and I looked down at the dirt and the leaves and the twigs and I saw the dirt, the ground, that I remember as a kid. There is just something about that place. That patch of dirt. If I got on an airplane and went away for 50 years and came back to that one spot it will feel like home. I think that one little spot will always feel like home. It's indescribable. I'm trying very hard and I just cannot." I'm sharing stories from my time with the participants of #rebuildingparadise, a new @natgeodocs film by @ロン・ハワード.
