Trying so hard to not be just Aaron Spelling’s daughter that I made myself small. I came from such privilege so I always felt guilt. How dare I be creative or good or win or come out on top. I felt so little worth deep down that I shamed my own self. While this may not be obvious to the world it’s what was going on internally. When this show presented itself to me I decided Go Big Or Go Home! Literally. @celebshowoff gave me the perfect opportunity to show the world my talents and not be ashamed of them. Perhaps my driving force was because I was playing for my charity @stjude and not for myself. But, @celebshowoff gave me a voice. A pretty big voice! They allowed me to completely create my own show. For once in my career I was in complete control of the narrative. I decided to start my show with non scripted. My first 3 episodes I used my talents as a party planner/DIY’er and helped people celebrate big moments they were missing during this horrific pandemic .Then, it clicked. I’ve always wanted to be a writer. After all, I AM Aaron Spelling’s daughter! So I transitioned into scripted. I love comedy! Always have. Finally a chance to write, produce, & star in my own material. And, I got to do it ALL with my family! - So, what happened differently this time with the outcome of my own sTORI? I believed in myself. Not just the beginning of my sTORI with #CelebShowOff but the middle and The End! I manifested myself as The Winner. I literally saw myself w/ this belt! And, I didn’t stop picturing it till it happened. - When, I was announced the winner I bawled my eyes out! Some might have thought it was a very extreme reaction for a fun summer celebrity competition show. But, that win meant a lot more than just this show. This show represented a new chapter of my life starting. With this win I am moving forward w/confidence & belief in myself. No more guilt. No more shame for being born w/a name I couldn’t control.
