Legend has it that it was built (1831) by a sea captain for his two feuding daughters. The two houses are identical with a garden between the home in hopes that the sisters will get along. However, there’s no proof of that story...it’s cool though...right?! A New Jersey milkman by the name of Jacob Huyler is credited with building the twin houses. He never lived in either houses but it was a rental property and one of those renters was listed as a captain. Hmm 🤔 did that captain have 2 daughters?? 😆 Okay...that’s my history lesson for today! I’m happy I finally illustrated this home...I have many pictures of it and now I have a “moving” illustration 😄🙌🏻 It’s absolutely charming and if you ever come by this street corner when it’s raining ...it’s like something you read in a novel or a background in a movie.
