My son - we’ve been eating well these last few weeks. Here’s what you missed out on:
Day 1: Braised pork belly and seitan by grandma like the way your great grandmother used to make
Day 2: Panko-fried five spice pork chops with bulldog sauce
Day 3: Your papa decided he needed to represent his French roots and made boeuf bourguignon with butter mash potatoes
Day 4: Papa made steak and pesto fusilli and your maman thought it was ok to have a glass of wine
Day 5: Uncle @pcchandranyc cooked all of us Thai green curry with pork meatballs, beef satay with peanut sauce and shrimp spring rolls
Day 6: I learned to cook celtuce for the first time (tastes like celery and asparagus in one), stir fried with pork. There were also cauliflower and lotus root pancakes.
Day 7: Dumplings (homemade of course) with sautéed water spinach for your 100 day bday
Day 8: Maman had her first oysters since 2019 at your uncle @jasonreichenhua and @andrewcarmellini ‘s place, which reopened recently in our favorite neighborhood in this forever great city.
You were with us the whole time. Your grandparents held you a lot so the rest of us had time (and free hands) to eat. And eventually we all fell asleep too... bellies full, exhausted, and grateful. #celianansel
