Photo by @williamodaniels In Bangui, Central African Republic, men collect sand to sell for construction. They dive in the Ubangui River, sometimes down to five meters (16 ft), with a bucket—until their boat is full of sand. They earn between seven and twenty dollars a day. Central African Republic has been in the throes of civil war since 2013. The country has been vulnerable ever since gaining independence from France in 1960. In 2014, the UN Development Program rated CAR as the second least developed country in the world. Follow me on @williamodaniels for more stories around the world.
