lately when I’m scared or overwhelmed I write down the things I can’t control and the things I can.
things I can’t control: the future, the future of the pandemic, other people’s behavior, whether other people are kind or honest or not, the past, how others treat me or other people.... but we can control how we show up in this world every day. We can BE the change we want to see. We want a world with more love, unity, compassion, kindness, empathy. We can choose to BE love, BE kindness, BE compassion, BE empathy in our homes, BE progress towards a better world and a better human family.. in our neighborhoods, in our work environments, in our planet... with our families, with our friends, with people we love, with strangers, (even with people we really don’t like), with ourselves.... there’s a lot we can’t control.
