This is a three-light arrangement with the main light coming from almost directly overhead, while the second and third lights are subtly illuminating the edges and undersides of of the petals. Originally captured in color, the image was converted to black and white during processing.⠀ All three light sources were controlled with snoots, miniature flags, scrims and silks to shape the light. Shadows often get a bad reputation, but they are often what creates interest in an image and a few small flags and scrims can really help with light control.
