Wallpaperさんのインスタグラム写真 - (WallpaperInstagram)「The new @apple Marina Bay Sands store, designed by @fosterandpartners, appears as a floating sphere entirely surrounded by Singapore's Marina Bay.⁠ ⁠ Billed as the tech giant's most ambitious retail project, the store is self-supporting dome structure: 30 metres in diameter, 17 metres tall, made up of 114 glass panels lined interior baffles that provide shade while bouncing light upwards. Visitors enter via the store's lower floor, connected to the Marina Bay Sands shopping mall, and ascend a pair of escalators that travel through a stainless steel tunnel to enter the spectacular domed space. A Pantheon-style oculus at the top of the dome lets in a disc of light for added dramatic effect.⁠ ⁠ Our senior editor @nickcompton spoke exclusively to Stefan Behling, senior executive partner at Foster + Partners, ahead of the store opening this Thursday.
