During this time of "lockdown," it has crossed my mind that if I had chosen my "planned" career path when I graduated, my job would have been "safe" and I wouldn't have to worry about when I could work full time again. But seeing these videos of my students improving even with our limitations, makes me feel so good about making the choice to become a coach. I love seeing their faces when things click, and (selfishly) it tells me I'm doing something right. With this job, I'm constantly questioning or doubting myself. Even after 10 yrs (!!), I sometimes feel like I have no idea what I'm doing. I get frustrated when I have a challenging student. I didn't want to sit in a classroom for another 3 yrs to get a higher degree, but I realized that I love learning. I love DOING & learning. It's why I love to dance, to skate, to move, period. I would take pairs and ice dance lessons several times a week if I could, just to learn something new. Anyway, I write this lengthy caption to say that even though things are rough right now, I am grateful that this is the path I'm on and that I get to do something that I love. I'm also grateful to my students and their parents for sticking with me, and allowing me to guide them through their skating journey which I'm hoping will grow a passion or at the very least a life lesson they can take with them beyond their time on the ice. ❤️ #appreciationpost #coachlife #ilovemyjob #zoomlife #training #lifelessons #careergoals」9月9日 4時26分
