Prior to 3 days of exceptionally good (mostly vegetarian) food at @hotelsancristobal by phenomenal local chef @dahlidelapena we ate at @mantacabo overlooking the bay of #CaboSanLucas This is the most expensive meal in #Mexico so far for us, owing to the location, the celebrity chef and the fact that it’s #Cabo The food was good if not a little unexpected. Very clean honest simple Japanese Mexican flavors, very Cali but served with fine dining expertise. We ate:
1/ Puffed Corn Crisps w Guac Paste
2/ Sashimi, ají amarillo, sesame and wasabi
3/ Beetroot ceviche, ginger, habanero, leche de tigre
4/ Mushroom ramen, epazote, beans, pasilla mixe
5/ Sliced fish, orange, chile serrano with worm salt
6/Heirloom tomato salad, watermelon and hibiscus chamoy
7/ Black miso fish tacos, cabbage, flour tortillas
8/ Octopus anticucho, chorizo mayo
9/ Soft shell crab taco, chipotle mayo, herbs
10/ Roasted sweet potato and almond mole
11/ Fried chicken with aji amarillo dip (not pictured, kinda like elevated Karage)
12/ Tamarind and Guava Sorbet (palette cleanser )
13/ Tres leches cake, black cherry ice cream

To drink:
1/ Avocado, chamomille, lime, white tequila patrón, sake nami.
2/ Tamarind,” pasilla mixe”, lime, mezcal espadín 7 misterios, damiana, rosemary.
