Start talking about mental health more openly, consistently and non-judgmentally.⁣⁣ ⁣ ⁣2. Try and be aware of reliable mental health professionals, who can be accessed when in⁣⁣ need. Also, be aware of and verify suicide helpline numbers before giving them out.⁣⁣ ⁣ ⁣3. If a person is sharing their distress, provide to them a safe space to talk. Listen to them without invalidating them- something that’s not a big deal for you may be a big deal for them . If they don’t want to talk, be with them in silence. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣4. Don’t push them or burden them with help seeking- offer to be with them during the process. (For example- booking an appointment with them, accompanying them to the doc)⁣⁣ ⁣ ⁣5. Check up on them from time to time, but also give them the space they need.⁣⁣ ⁣ ⁣6.
