アシュリー・ワグナーさんのインスタグラム写真 - (アシュリー・ワグナーInstagram)「I remember this day so clearly. I was at the rink skating and I got off the ice for the zam break. All of the moms were standing around the tv, and my mom was at the center crying. I had never seen her look so human. It was only for a second before she noticed me, but in that second she wasn’t my mom, she was a woman paralyzed in fear. On tv was an image of the Pentagon burning, and I didn’t understand why she was so upset until we got into the car. She calmly explained that the building on fire was where my dad worked, and that he hadn’t called yet to say he was okay. I went to school that day not knowing if my dad was alive. I spent the day trying to feel some connection to him, like if he was still alive I could maybe feel him. The phone lines had been tied up for hours, but I will truly never forget my mom tearfully handing me the phone later that day and hearing my dad’s voice on the other end. He was one of the lucky ones. Growing up in DC, I knew many kids who lost a parent that day. Today, hug your loved ones a little tighter, tell them how much they mean to you, because you never know. Thinking of all those lost, and who lost someone, you will never be forgotten.」9月12日 1時06分 - ashwagner2010
