Here’s a couple of my first born daughter @atlantabean as a little girl , and as a grown up . I became a Mom when I was a teen, which doesn’t always turn out well. I had no idea that parenting is hard as fuck. Nothing and I mean NOTHING has challenged me to the depths of my being like parenting has . So , I just want to acknowledge all the parents & caregivers who are supporting kids right now. This shit was hard before a global pandemic , before isolation and separation from friends and community, before fires and record heat , before massive job losses, and a collapsing government. These are the moments when we get to see who we are behind the masks we all wear . I don’t know about you , but just as parenting has forced me to look inwards, this insanely challenging time is also an invitation to dig deep , deeper than i think I can tolerate and decide that 2020 is not going to be the year that breaks me .
