I remember crying in my kitchen as we made her lunch and wondering how the hell I was going to get through parenthood... And no matter how much I recognized that saddling my kids with my own fears did them no good... I still felt them. Deeply. Today? I don’t know whether it’s all this isolation, or all the loss our family has endured these last few months... but I’ve found a quiet peace with it - with all the nerves and uncertainty and fears I know they’ll be navigating today. A friend’s advice: “Send them the codes to process it, and just be there for them,” seems to ring true. By “codes” I think he meant love, energy, generational wisdom... all that jazz. I think. Maybe he was referring to wardrobe. Either way, I’ve got them covered. (And thank you @thedopple for sending that care basket of all these clothes after one of those aforementioned losses.
