Back in the late 90’s, I photographed a story on Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom titled Vermont: Suite of Seasons, focusing on seasonal change in the state’s most rural, remote and unspoiled northernmost counties. I spent 4 blissful weeks in 4 seasons getting lost on the backroads in search of inspiring landscapes, settling on this sugar-maple-tree-lined quiet country lane past the Gonyaw farm to shoot the signature lead for the story. Each spring the family tapped the trees to make sweet amber syrup marking the change in seasons and I imagine things have not changed much since. Today marks the official first day of fall. A limited number of these signed posters are available through the link on my profile.
