However the “burn it down” approach is only leaving more hurt and in trouble, then alternative constructive approaches. • In NYC, in the week around 9/13/20 there were sixteen homicides. During the same week last year, there were just four. All sixteen were black Americans.. • Murder has increased by 300%. Gang wars have spiked as plain clothes anti crime/ police gang units have been dismantled in the name of “progressive policing”. • Gang violence and homicides have shot up 40% and is projected to increase up to 65% by the end of the year. * Police supervisors are buckling to the demands of politicians and government administrators. This political behavior only makes a tough job much, much harder. Individual cops are giving up on their careers because leadership no longer has their backs. If they no longer have support from city administrators, or department supervisors, then even more, they need support now from the people they serve and protect. These law enforcement professionals are people; they are our neighbors, and members of our community. As much as they serve us, they deserve as much support as we can provide. * In many departments, we are now seeing a breakdown in the ability of law enforcement officers to do their jobs as best as they can. The great majority of people in law enforcement are those who have stood up to take a job that is aimed at protecting and serving their communities. In too many cases now, we are seeing city councils and police department supervisors stabbing their officers in the back. Is it any wonder that not only so many are retiring early, but as well, many are resigning and leaving the job. * If we as members of our communities don’t stand up to support the individuals who work to protect and service, we will be aiding in the decimation of one of the most important assets our communities have.」9月22日 23時48分
