There’s nothing I love more than connecting with you beautiful humans. It’s like being pulled from the muck and getting shined up for a moment. A small moment, but one that allows us to find some joy before we head back into the fight, into the darkness that makes us feel like giving up. But I don’t know. I’ve never wanted to be a distraction from the real issues we’re facing like some fool. This weeks ruling in Kentucky is so disheartening. When will we in America value human life? When will we in America value Black lives? When will we in America value Black women? It baffles me that we don’t see what an absolute gift our Black brothers and sisters are - how freaking lucky we are to have them and all the diversity in this country. You don’t need me to enumerate what we’re facing right now in America. It’s heavy. It’s dark. And we need moments of light to find our way and keep going forward. I just have a hard time doing the pub some weeks because reverence must be paid. So if we come together on Fridays to talk about something silly please know it’s not because I don’t see the issues all around. It’s precisely that I DO see them and that’s almost exclusively what I see. And if we don’t stop and find the good in each other we won’t find anything worth fighting for.
