I spent 12 years with him going on tours, doing demos, flying all over the world, rooming together, skating, sharing parts of our lives only teammates can. What I always admired about him is that he was friends with everyone, even people I wasn’t, and that his friendship had no boundaries. Never did he complain about the people, the tour, the spot, the food, his aches and pains or having to get out there and skate. He just did it. I don’t want anyone to not know that there are certain aspects to skateboarding that exist only because of him. He not only shaped this culture, but streetwear culture as well. I shouldn’t worry though, one scroll and it’s evident his triumphs won’t go unacknowledged. When you get older, you don’t have as much time to spend with your friends the way you did when you were young. Sometimes you get new friends and become part of new groups. It’s ok.
