"After my daughter unexpectedly passed away, I had no idea how to handle all of the emotions I was feeling. Through the support of friends, family and coworkers I started going to therapy and that was so helpful for me. I wish it hadn’t taken a tragic, life altering event to go to therapy. As we started talking, I realized that not everything was about my daughter and it stemmed from other issues that I had never dealt with - extreme feelings of failure and feeling not good enough. I consider myself a functional adult (on most days ha) with a strong support system and I still find it hard to protect and take care of my mental health. So imagine young adults who may or may not have a support system trying to figure it out - it’s hard and it’s not easy and it's okay to speak up and ask for help.
