Some of the Bilbies traversed over 4km in the first night with lots of positive signs of digging and foraging. The Taronga Western Plains Zoo team now turns its attention back to the breeding program in Dubbo with the aim to continue to breed and produce Bilbies suitable for release in sites like Wild Deserts in the future. Our Sanctuary is the engine room for Bilby breeding and helping to provide animals to create sustainable populations like the one in Wild Deserts at Sturt National Park.
