I’m super passionate about connecting young people, women and underrepresented groups to arts, culture and events. ✨ In 2016, I founded a platform called Unmasked Women - an exhibition channelling the Black British female experience focussing on mental health. After dealing with depression and still struggling with anxiety, I wanted to create something to spark a much needed conversation about mental health within the Black community. Since then, I’ve gone on to curate exhibitions at the V&A, produced several discussions with Tate Britain and delivered projects and talks with the ICA and Southbank Centre.🤓🤓 I’m the CEO of @blackgirlfest - a platform for Black women, girls and non-binary people. Our mission is to inspire and empower our community to help them flourish. We provide access learning and development through our festivals, academy programme + more. We host the UK’s first and biggest arts and culture festival for our community. Over the last 3 years we’ve welcomed over 8,000+ people to our space hosting, talks workshops and a marketplace. Past speakers include @munroebergdorf @bernardineevaristowriter @this_nao @emmadabiri + lots more.
