Two Australian icons with much to celebrate. 🇦🇺
Cathy Freeman and Ian Thorpe embodied the Games of the new millennium, #Sydney2000. Cathy became the first Aboriginal-Australian to win Olympic gold by claiming the 400m final, hoisting up both flags on her victory lap. Swimmer Ian Thorpe was the most successful athlete at the 2000 Olympic Games winning three gold, and two silver medals.
