If you would have told me, a young Venezuelan teenager, that it was possible for me to get my dream job when I grew up, I would not have believed it for a second. I simply thought it just was not possible for someone from my background to have such an amazing job.⠀ ⠀ As a Lighting Technical Director, I am responsible for lighting the virtual scene that our characters live in. This means creating all the environmental lights that set the mood of a given sequence. We creatively change the light intensity, color or position to better support the story's emotional arc. Soul was a very special movie for me. I was lucky to be asked to do pieces of lighting for New York City. The scenes I worked on also showed a wide range of diverse characters from many different backgrounds and ethnicities. It was very exciting to see such diversity on the screen that represented our community so well and the real New York City.⠀ ⠀ My family is my spark. I have a wonderful wife, parents and siblings that have supported me throughout my personal and professional journey and I will be forever thankful for their endless love and support.
