My name is Maddie and I’m a volunteer leader with @studentsdemand, a national movement of high school and college-aged activists working to end gun violence in America. This year, I’m so excited to work with my fellow student activists to volunteer on Election Day to help ensure every voter’s access to the ballot box through the #DemocracyDemandsAction. This program makes it so easy to volunteer on Election Day by signing up to be a poll worker, a poll monitor or a member of a voter support squad. Even though I am too young to vote in this election, it is important to me that every eligible voter is able to cast their ballot so, this year, I am volunteering as a poll worker in my home state of Vermont. Poll workers are an integral part of making the voting process smooth and I’m glad I’ll be able to help out.
