There were hundreds of rippers. He was slowly building up the courage to get in there even though he was one of the littlest. Heart beating. Nerves. Checking in with me constantly (which I loved). Then a few older kids encouraged him to go for it. Helmet & wrist guards on (thank you) he dropped in. Skated for hours at sunset. I grew up with a half pipe in my backyard and my brothers and the whole gang gathering at @innerlightsurfshops to skate when the surf wasn’t up. Felt like home.
