【お父さん、ありがとう】

2019/10/14の朝6時にお父さんが亡くなって早一年。
今でも忘れない、台風の影響で飛行機乗れず、やっと乗れたと思ってシンガポールに着陸したと同時にお父さんが亡くなったとの報告が。
まだ心臓が動いてる時にもう一度会えなかった悔しさは一緒忘れない。

お父さんは、多様性ある人で、そして誰よりも優しい人だった。
いつも相手を理解しようとして、誰にも偏見をもたない。お手本になる人でした。
腰を怪我した時も、1週間仕事を休んでくれて、退院の手伝いをしてくれた。

せっかくの頂いた命。
そして、このいつ終わりが来るかわからない命。
終わりが来た時、燃え尽きれるように生きよう。
そして自分に素直に生きよう。
マクファーレンの名に恥のないように。

早いお別れだったけど、またあの世で会うまで。
僕のお父さんになってくれてありがとう。

I still remember the day like it was yesterday.
Being stuck in the airport from an enormous typhoon, going around all airlines hoping to get a ticket.
But as soon as I landed in Singapore, he passed away.

He was the most diverse and kindest person I have ever known.
Never judging anyone, and always forgiving.
You were a role model to me.

You made me realize how fragile but valuable our lives are.
It’s amazing, but we never know when our time is due.
You have motivated me even more, so that I don’t take each day for granted, so that when my time comes, I have burned out completely.

There isn’t a day I don’t think of you.
Sometimes I look up, trying to talk to you.
Sometimes I see you in my dreams.

.
But till the day we meet again, I’ll cherish each and every moment you have given me.
I love you dad.
