レオナルド・ディカプリオさんのインスタグラム写真 - (レオナルド・ディカプリオInstagram)「Ecuador’s Constitutional Court is hearing a case on the Rights of Nature starting today, Oct. 19, and its decision could affect all of the country’s protected areas. #LosCedrosReserve in northern Ecuador is one of the most biologically diverse places in the world, home to more than 200 species facing extinction, and it’s a protected area known as a ‘bosque protector.’ Los Cedros has also been designated as a Key Biodiversity Area, meaning it’s critical to the overall health of the planet and the persistence of biodiversity. But it’s being threatened by mining. The Constitutional Court’s decision will decide if mining should be allowed in Los Cedros, or if it violates the Rights of Nature.
