Well, still In acting school and working on small low budget (no pay) jobs as an actor. Around this time on one of my waiting shifts, another waitress, also actor, said there was an audition from @backstagecast. We rushed out of work and caught the tale end of the auditions. I turned out getting the lead role that day. It was an indie film called Down With The Brothers about an interracial couple. It was an amazing experience. After the filming I got my tape of the movie and sent it to all the agents in town. Which eventually lead to me getting some representation. Easy from there on in - 🤮- not quite. Every turn has been a challenge but I never forgot the early days and people who took a chance. The people today that still take a chance. That’s why when my film that I wrote and will direct goes into casting I am making a public vow that I will open up some roles to young, hungry actors that are aching for a shot. I hear you, I was you and in some ways I still am. We ALL deserve a shot, a chance to shine and chance to live our dreams!
