"The Door / Yoshiyuki Yatsuhashi" Drums & Guitars Vol. 3

The second song of my collaboration with Maseeeta. I thought I was strong with six-eight time songs, but didn’t expect the dynamic timbre of the drums with the multiple microphones to hug and wrap around the song like this. Three mikes just for the kick drum head, and even a mike just for the ride cymbal. I had heard that he started gathering recording equipment since the COVID pandemic began, and apparently it takes him at least two hours to bring in the drums and set the equipment up in the studio before he can even start the session. Thanks to all this effort, his sound and performance are amazing. I was inspired to focus strongly as well.

マシータとのコラボ二曲目。８分の６拍子の曲は得意なつもりだったが、マルチマイクによるダイナミックなドラムの響きがこんなにも楽曲を包み込んでくれるとは予想しなかった。キックのヘッドだけでも三本、更にライド専用マイクまで。コロナが始まってから、彼が録音機材を集め出したことは知っていたけど、毎回スタジオにドラムを持ち込んで機材をセット、作業が始められるまでに最低でも２時間はかかるとか。おかげで素晴らしい音、演奏だ。ついついこちらも力が入った。
さあ扉を開こう！
