This beautiful yellow-bellied glider was recently treated at the Taronga Wildlife Hospital after it was found suffering cuts to its patagium, the special membrane that helps these unique and precious mammals to glide through the air.

Upon investigation the glider was found to have both old and new injuries to the patagium, which were sadly most likely a result of a collision with a barbed-wire fence, as well as an injury to the tail. After having its wounds tended to, this glider will rest and recuperate at the Taronga Wildlife Hospital.
