クインシー・ジョーンズさんのインスタグラム写真 - (クインシー・ジョーンズInstagram)「Man, words truly can’t even begin to express just how heavy of a loss this is…I met DeOndra when she was just a kid, through her big brother (& all-around guardian angel), @iamjamiefoxx, & there was no doubt in my mind that this girl was a star. She quickly became my ‘lil buddy & it was an absolute no-brainer to introduce her to my friends (John & Anna Sie & their daughter, Michelle) over at @globaldownsyndrome as one of the most articulate, irrepressible, & magnetic people I had ever met…She was all-a-that & MORE! So it was an incredible joy to create & give the inaugural “Quincy Jones Exceptional Advocacy Award”, inspired by her, TO her back in 2011. She then became a GLOBAL Ambassador & we’d head over to Denver almost every year together for the Global Down Syndrome Fashion Show (to present other deserving recipients with the same award), & boy did that girl know how to STRUT! She’d steal not only your microphone if she had something to say, but she’d steal yo man (@chrisbrownofficial knows what I’m talkin’ about)!! And she not only showed us what it meant to live a full life with Down syndrome, but she showed us what it meant to live a full LIFE. Plain & simple. I last saw & danced with DeOndra at the end of 2019 for our last #GDSF Fashion Show & if it weren’t for Covid restrictions, we would’ve seen each other again this November for another beautiful event. As difficult as this one is, I know she has truly made this planet a better place, & just like me, I know those of you who knew her are better off for it. I love you so much my dear DeOndra.
