You can get this film as a part of his Early Independent Works Collection in Japan, but The Criterion Collection edition of “Hausu” (which of course is great but let that be a gateway drug for you to get into his other amazing films) by Nobuhiko Obayashi comes with the bunch of extra including this early experimental short film of his called “Emotion” from ‘67 (Emotion: 伝説の午後 いつか見たドラキュラ The Legendary Afternoon, That Dracula We once Saw. 16mm 38min). It’s a short film which seems to be influenced by the French New Wave (and maybe “Daisies” by Věra Chytilová) and is dedicated to Roger Vadim's “Blood and Roses”. This film alone is worth getting the disc for or join their channel.

日本では彼の自主制作映像集等で観る事ができますが、The Criterion Collection (@criterioncollection) の大林宣彦監督の「ハウス」にもエクストラとしてこの67年の16ミリ自主映画『Emotion: 伝説の午後 いつか見たドラキュラ』(38分) が付いてきます。ロジェ・ヴァディムの吸血鬼映画「血とバラ」に捧げられた、ヌーベルヴァーグ(ヴェラ・ヒティロヴァの『ひなぎく』っぽいところも)に影響を受けたような実験短編映画なのですが、これだけでもディスクを手に入れる価値があったと思ったものです。
