Released in 1992, @sallypotter.director’s award-winning film Orlando is more topical than ever. For starters, it’s based on the 1928 novel of the same name by Virgina Woolf, whose work is referenced in the Costume Institute's “About Time.” Tilda Swinton, seen above as Lady Orlando with @billyzane as Shelmerdine, plays the eternally youthful main character. In the midst of traveling through 400 years of British history, Orlando, born a man, awakes to find he has become a woman.
