Mary Del Plato, who came to the protest with her daughter and grandchildren, watched the speakers anxiously as her granddaughter Aubrielle Maldonado hugged her. “It's very important that we get every single vote counted and get the right president in office,” she said. When asked if she thinks Joe Biden will win Pennsylvania, she said, “That's my dream.”

Protesters demanded that every vote be counted, in response to threats from President Trump to try to stop the counting of mail-in ballots in the hotly contested swing state. A handful of speakers talked about the importance of honoring the voting process and about hot-button issues like the pandemic and the economy. The mood was somber.
