Writing this song with @deeziebrown was about focusing on this election, and how everything we care about is at stake. I know there is still a long road ahead for all of us. I’m reminded daily of that trip I took when I was 9-years-old to Selma, where the late John Lewis fought peacefully for our rights. Every time I go to vote, I think back to all these lessons I got as a kid, and ones I look forward to giving my kids.
