The nineties saw an explosion of creativity on the London fashion scene. Setting the pace were four graduates of Central Saint Martins: John Galliano (@jgalliano), Alexander McQueen (@アレキサンダー・マックイーン), Hussein Chalayan (@chalayanstudio), and Stella McCartney (@ステラ・マッカートニー). Each of these “London Libertines” had a distinct point of view, still, as @metcostumeinstitute curator Andrew Bolton notes, this generation of Brits engaged with “that clash between tradition and transgression, the past and the present that defines English culture.”
