For #RemembranceDay, here is a red poppy made by Mary Delany in 1779.
Former Museum Keeper Laurence Binyon wrote the words of the ‘Ode of Remembrance’, which are inscribed on our War Memorial:
“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.”
