Often we think we already know everything there is to know about something, but then you finally discover its magic. When I started documenting the traditional costumes of Peru in my 'Alta Moda' series, I had seen people wearing those same costumes on the streets several times. It wasn’t until I started shooting that I more fully comprehended their subtleties and beauty. The same thing happened in Morocco. When planning the trip there back in 2019, a few friends brought up including the Tuaregs in our project. It was whilst shooting that I discovered the beauty of their indigo dyed garments. The colour blue is very special and unexpected for a community of Northern Africa. Their clothes, with the volume and proportions of the fabric as well as the amazing colour, make them one not with the desert but with the sky above.

A menudo pensamos que ya sabemos todo sobre algo, pero luego realmente descubrimos su magia. Cuando comencé a documentar los trajes tradicionales del Perú en mi serie 'Alta Moda', había visto varias veces a personas con esos mismos trajes en las calles. No fue hasta que comencé a fotografiar que comprendí mejor sus sutilezas y belleza. Lo mismo pasó en Marruecos. Al planificar el viaje allí en 2019, algunos amigos sugirieron a los tuaregs para nuestro proyecto. Fue durante el rodaje que descubrí la belleza de sus prendas teñidas con índigo. El color azul es muy especial e inesperado para una comunidad del norte de África. Su ropa, con el volumen y las proporciones de la tela, así como el color, los hace uno no con el desierto sino con el cielo.
