I am not only a professional boxer, but I am committed to fighting for a world where being yourself isn’t an act of bravery. I’ve had to make history in order to be my true self - from a highly decorated female amateur boxing champion to the first professional male boxer who is transgender to compete and win, to the first transgender athlete to become the face of Everlast, I’ve never allowed others to define me. Today is Trans Day of Remembrance, a day we dedicate not only to mourning those in the transgender community who lost their lives to anti-trans violence this year, but also to celebrating the resilience of all of us who are still here. I’ve been invited to share more about myself, my journey to being the first and the causes that are dear to my heart.
