it’s a curious thing, the way we stop wanting what we don’t have the moment we get it, but we don’t stop wanting what we don’t have.

having more doesn’t cure longing. possession doesn’t absolve desire.

only gratitude can cure the longing for what you don’t have. not more having & not having more.

having gratitude for what you have & what you are doesn’t mean becoming complacent. dreams of becoming are not the same as one’s desire to attain. having what you want doesn’t prove what you are any more than owning gold makes one’s soul golden.

what you are can guide your pursuit toward a certain destination but what you are is always already there. within you. in your will to pursue. & the choice to do so proves you to yourself.

pursuit of passion is a calling for one to express what is already there & marry it to the unknown. the grace in the way you keep going is proof that there is always more where you come from even in the smallest of steps.

your calling to create is an invitation to denude the ego & unveil the force at the source of your will.

gratitude means you don’t allow desire & the lack of a certain possession to negate the wealth of what is abundantly clear in your presence. it means you don’t allow lack to dilute the truest essence of need.

it means you can look at the missing. gaze at the gone. & say thank you.
