I’m sure this year’s celebration felt lonely and weird for those who is trying to socially distance. Usually we celebrate at my parents’ house, they cook/bake traditional Uzbek food (yes, even for Thanksgiving), every meal is made from scratch and requires hours of preparations. My little sister and her family visits from NY and my in-laws also join. We are definitely a weird bunch 😊 and I mean it in a good way. But this year feels really lonely. I’m thankful for all those scientists who work hard on developing vaccines for us, for all those scholars and academics studying this pandemic and trying to improve our future, for all the medical staff showing up for work every day and for all the essential workers.
