Onishi Kannon in Onishi Park
(Oshika Village)

Onishi Park is famous as a cherry blossom viewing spot.

The park was built over the rubble of the 1961 collapse of Mt. Onishi, in remembrance of the victims and in hope of the village’s recovery.

The Kannon statue stands in front of the shorn cliff face of Mt. Onishi, silently protecting the park and village.

桜の名所としても有名な「大西公園」🍃

昭和36年に起きた大西山の崩落跡に
犠牲者の慰霊と村の復興を
願って作られた公園です🍁

崩落した大西山の崖をバックに観音様が立ち
公園を優しく見守っています✨
