I just wanted to take a moment to give a shout-out, and a big congratulations to my friends at Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital, for the completion of their awesome mobile clinic. With this new facility on wheels, the staff is now able to travel to where the animals actually are, with the best equipment in tow, saving lives across Australia. For sure, there are lots of great organizations out there, working tirelessly for worthwhile causes...but this one is near and dear to me, as I am a rescue bird myself. The BBWH will be treating and rehabilitating some of my fellow cockatoos, among numerous other bird species, as well as koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, possum, snakes, bats, and the list goes on. These populations have dwindled significantly since the fires, so it is especially important work. And while the mobile hospital is up and running, it will be a huge and ongoing mission of conservation.
