Your actions while appearing to be independent and free are often actually a perpetuation of all of the suffering of the past. Since most of the patterns we have are held deeply within the subconscious mind no superficial solution makes a substance of change. This is why so much of the work of positive thinking and positive affirmations seems to fall short. While you may feel relief for a period of time, the core nucleus around which your being is centered is still infected with the virus of the stays quo. Unless there is a cure that is directed to the very center of your being, periods of relief will not be full remission. Yoga and the awakening of the spiritual path are a full-fledged revolution of the mind.
