As the founder and artistic director of creative development agency @StyleHouseFiles, Akerele had been staging runway shows periodically in Lagos before launching the biannual Lagos Fashion Week with the intention not just to increase exposure for local designers but also to provide a longer-term framework for them to build thriving businesses. The tragedies sparking the #EndSARS movement coupled with Covid-19 caused Akerele to make the difficult decision to postpone this year's event. However, Akerele teamed up with photographer @LakinOgunbanwo and stylist @Tangino to support designers through this time.
