The vertical threads that make up a fabric are referred to as the ‘warp’.
Warping is the process of warp preparation, usually by ending threads from cones of yarn onto a drum.
When complete, the warp is then transferred from the drum onto a roller, known as a ‘weaver’s beam’, which can then be fitted to the back of the loom ready to start weaving.
