Britain announced on Monday that it would loosen restrictions on blood donation by gay and bisexual men beginning next year, at last moving away from the stigmatized AIDS-era policy which stipulates that all self-identified men must wait three months after having oral or anal sex with another man before donating blood. Similar rules are still in place in the U.S. and Australia. ⁠
