These students are learning in a UNICEF-supported course for students who are blind or have low vision in Dara’a, Syria. Here, they are able to read and write with the help of special equipment and expert supervision. The students are led by Khadija, who also has low vision. “I was lucky to find support when I was young, which helped me to complete my education with two bachelor’s degrees,” says Khadija. "I feel obligated to give back to others who aren't as fortunate as me." Conflict, and now COVID-19, has made learning even more difficult for children with disabilities in Syria. UNICEF is working with local partners to make sure that every child can access their right to a quality education. © UNICEF/Syria/2020/Shahan @unicef_mena
