I am so inspired by the beautiful lighthouses in New York, and this one is based on the wonderful Montauk Lighthouse. One thing I always do once I lay out my drawing with my Sakura pencil is tape the edges of my piece. I use a paper-safe masking tape and create an even border around my drawing. This creates a clean white border that looks lovely in a frame!⁠ •••⁠ To create this one, I primarily used the 005 MICRON, and the 01 MICRON for some of the larger dark areas, such as the center of the eyes on the giant squid. I used my white Gelly Roll pen to create the highlights on the eyes and around the light inside the glass housing.
