Collectively older, hopefully wiser, more sleep deprived, definitely a lot less drunk, and way more grateful for the small stuff. The latest lockdown has dragged us kicking and screaming back to the bare bones of life again, deprived of proper human connection and outside entertainment but I’ve found joy in the smallest moments. A ferocious game of monopoly after lunch, a dusky, drizzly walk and the realisation that when you hit a collective ground zero you’ve less to lose which feels like a good opportunity to reframe parts of life. Inhibitions can slip away, wasted energy on worrying what people think about us can DO one and we can decipher new priorities. Small glimmers of joy.
